Don’t make Alfred Nobel a Mockery of Peace

I am just one person among the 8.1 billion citizens of our world, where some live in in harmony and peace and the rest live in despair and trepidation.
Yes, I am one person and my voice could be like a thin moist air, not even a drop water falling on a huge sea. But I have a dream this thin voice of mine, which is lighter than air, may be heard by the Nobel Foundation. If not by the Nobel Foundation, maybe by the spirit of the founder of the award himself, Alfred Nobel. Yes, I have dream, like the dream of Martin Luther King, that was heard throughout the world.
Since Abiy Ahmed came to power in April 2018, Ethiopia recorded the third highest number of new displacements worldwide, with 3,191,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) identified. A significant portion of these displacements are conflict-induced, largely related to ethnic and border-based disputes (DTM Ethiopia National Displacement Report
11_Online.pdf (iom.int) and by August 2018, 748,499 IDPs were displaced from the Gedeo West Guji conflict alone.
I have dream that the Peace Prize that is bestowed on Prime minster Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia, in 2019, by the Nebel Foundation will be withdrawn.
Just within one year of Abiy Ahmed’s reign, in 2019, Ethiopia was ranked first in the world for the number of internally displaced people. This was more than those displaced by wars in Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan (Ethiopia’s Amhara crisis: Abiy’s political failures threaten a return to war (theconversation.com))
The same year in 2019, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to PM Abiy Ahmed Ali by the Nobel Foundation. While the award ceremony was taking place, hundreds of Amhara, Gurage, and non-Oromo people in Shashemene and different parts of Oromia such as Arsi and Bale zones were massacred due to their ethnicity.
The great Alfred Nobel, as the whole world knows signed his memorable will in November 1895 to award those that make outstanding contributions to Peace, Chemistry, Physics, Physiology/Medicine and Literature. The peace prize is supposed to be given to the person or society that renders the greatest service to the cause of international fraternity, in the suppression or reduction of standing armies, or in the establishment or furtherance of peace congresses.
So, may I ask, today what will Alfred Nobel say if he is suddenly awake from his death and discover that his notable Peace Prize is awarded to Abiy Ahmed Ali, who happens to be a leading war criminal and ethnic cleanser in the world? If Abiy Ahmed Ali, such a proven war monger and ethnic cleanser is a leader of a country within the European Union, will the Nobel Foundation hesitate to withdraw such a prestigious humanitarian award?
As a citizen of the world, I sincerely believe that “Alfred Nobel’s Will was Betrayed”. The Nebel Foundation must withdraw the Peace Prize award from PM Abiy Ahmed Ali of Ethiopia.
Within a year after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, in November 2020, Abiy Ahmed’s disastrous civil war in Northern Ethiopia claimed over 600,000 innocent lives (War in Tigray may have killed 600,000 people, peace mediator says (ft.com)) and displaced millions of people and destroyed billions of dollar worth of properties. The same year, hundreds of Amhara were massacred in Metekel, Benishangul region of Ethiopia due to their ethnicity alone. Lawlessness, robbery and terror was quickly ascending in the country.
The word “peace” has completely disappeared from Ethiopia soon after he became the leader of the country. Under PM Abiy Ahmed Ali and his “One Pary” and “One Ethnicity” dogma and polarization, PEACE has disappeared altogether from the Ethiopian skies and landscape.
PLEASE WITHDRAW THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE AWRAD FROM ABIY AHMED ALI. HE DOESN’T DESEVE IT.
In mid-April 2021, conflict broke out in Ataye City Administration in North Shewa zone of Amhara region, for the 9th consecutive time, and the surrounding areas, which led to mass displacement in the zone. Estimated displacement following the conflict, according to government sources, reached 310,000 IDPs at its peak. The deadliest massacre of the Amhara people in the Wollega zone of Oromia region also occurred in June 2022 and the recipient of the Nobel Peace prize, Abiy Ahmed Ali, made a mockery of the massacre in front of the parliament by saying “I will plant trees as a shade for the dead” when answering a question “why his government has failed to protect the people from the massacre”. These conflicts brought the number of displacement in Ethiopia to 4.5 million IDPs as of February 2022
(DTM Ethiopia National Displacement Report 11_Online.pdf (iom.int)). Additionally in the same year alone, an estimated 400,000 ethnic Amharas (excluding tens of thousands non-Oromo ethnic groups) were displaced from the suburbs surrounding Addis Ababa, the capital.
Today, Amharas are continuously harassed by Oromia’s security forces for wearing clothes having the color of the national flag of Ethiopia. They are also refused travel to and entry into Addis Ababa which is a self-administrating city but geographically an enclave of the Oromia region.
Thousands of Amhara activists, intellectuals, elites and journalists are imprisoned in Addis Ababa and different parts of Oromia, even in schools and factories. Parliamentarians and opposition party leaders are arrested and tortured without charges. Their crime is for being “Amhara”. This is not a secret, it is known by the diplomatic community, including the European union, residing in Addis Abeba.
THE EVIDENCE IS OVERWEALMING. IT IS A RIDICULE TO ALFRED NOBEL AWARDING THE PEAECE PRIZE TO SUCH A “ONE PARTY” AND “ONE MAN” TOTALITARIAN DICTATOR.
On 4 August 2023, like the declaration during the Tigray war, PM Abiy Ahmed Ali declared a state of emergency in Amhara. Currently, over 50 million Amharas are under siege. Thousands of people are dying, are bombarded by the Turkish, UAE, Chinese and Iranian Drones, women are “MASS RAPED”, “PRIVATE PARTS OF AMHARA MEN IS MUTILATED” children are murdered, houses are demolished, crops are burnt, properties are robbed (Ethiopia: War in Tigray (europa.eu)). Currently, it is Amhara region is a “living hell” and “terror” in all other regions of Ethiopia.
The national army has become the “foot soldier” of the dictator, PM Abiy Ahmed Ali. It is butchering the Ethiopian people who are actually paying the salary and for the weapons it is brandishing to prolong the totalitarian government.
Due to the absence of peace and security during the last 5 years, 25.3 million people in need aid, 13.3 million children are in need of humanitarian assistance, 4.51 million Internally Displaced People require resettlement and there are 884,294 refugees and asylum seekers (Microsoft Word – Ethiopia Humanitarian Situation Report Jan 2023_FINAL vHFSS6Mar23 (unicef.org))
THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE! And it is OVERWEALMING. History will judge the NOBEL FOUNDATION if this MISTAKE IS NOT CORRECTD.
ABIY AHMED ALI IS AN IMPERSONATOR, A LIER AND NARSCIST. HE HAS LIED TO THE WORLF AND THE NOBEL FOUNDATION. HE IS BREAZING WAR EVERY DAY, NOT PEACE.
Please say no to this war monger! No to this dictator! IN THE NAME OF ALFRED NOBEL, PLEASE RESCIND THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!

Since Abiy Ahmed assumed power in Ethiopia, the nation has experienced a significant increase in casualties, displacements, and internal conflicts driven by ethnic and border-related disputes that appear to have Abiy’s implicit support. Abiy’s actions have been shrouded in deception, particularly in his dealings with the Nobel Prize committee which awarded him for his involvement in the Eritrea peace process. Ironically, he seems to be at odds with Eritrea despite this award.
Ethiopia is currently engulfed in conflicts on multiple fronts, and this fighting can spill over into the Horn of Africa. It is evident that Abiy has no remorse for the loss of lives, cases of rape, and the immense suffering of the people. Some even describe him as evil presence in human form.
Failing to withdraw Abiy’s Nobel Prize would cast a shadow over the committee’s integrity and its fundamental mission of inspiring individuals committed to peace rather than conflict.
Therefore, revoking Abiy’s award is imperative to uphold the committee’s values and integrity.
The Nobel Peace Prize has become just one of the weapons in the arsenal of the western world by which it coopts, bribes or promotes its puppets as it greedily gobbles up the resources of the world. Barack Obama’s award of this prize is a telling example of how the peace prize has been used to either bribe, silence or promote a leader who has done nothing worthwhile to deserve a peace prize of that magnitude. How Abiy Ahmed was awarded the prize singularly while shaking hands to make peace takes two people, was indicative of the true intentions of this bribe. While the atrocious apartheid chief de Clerk shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Mandela, how Abiy Ahmed was given the prize without Isayas Afewerki says volumes as to the true intentions of the award.
Abiy is about to help execute the main reason for his knighting: a regime change in Asmara. His handlers are waiting eagerly.
So, please let him keep this bribe as long as he is committed to the puppet role that was assigned to him as he was handpicked and groomed for his current post.
Why, didn’t Obama keep his prize through all the wars on Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya etc.?
