When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to hijack constitutional government, trample on the rule of law, trash representative government and reduce the people under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to vote OUT of Government a two-bit ignorant megalomaniac and to provide new Guards for their future security.–Such has been the patient sufferance of these United States for the past four years; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to dump Trump, Donald J. The history of Trump, Donald J. is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of a an absolute neofascist Tyranny over these States. He has trashed the bedrock principles of the Republic’s federalism by undertaking political extortion threatening and withholding constitutionally appropriated funds to so-called sanctuary cities in the states.

He has trashed bedrock principles of separation of powers by exercising legislative powers in violation of the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.

He has violated bedrock principles of federalism by attempting to coerce States to become appendages of federal law enforcement effectively usurping plenary federal powers over immigration.

He has, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the law, and attempted to divert $2.5 billion in Defense Department funds toward construction of a so-called border wall.

He has undermined bedrock separation of powers and rule of law principles and flagrantly undermined the independence of judiciary by personally attacking and denigrating members of the federal judiciary who have ruled against his policies. He continues to undermine the legitimacy of the courts and the justice system as his personal enemies and not as a coequal branch to be respected even when he disagrees with its decisions.

He has attacked the press by publicly denigrating reporters and journalists, demeaning press institutions, barring reporters who have sought to hold him accountable to the public, perpetrating claims of “fake news” to conceal facts of wrongdoing and barring reporters and scrubbing or withholding information from government websites.

He has abused the executive privilege of his office by repeatedly instructing current and past members of his administration to refuse to recognize the authority of congressional subpoenas, withholding vital evidence from Congress and stonewalling congressional investigations.

He has abused the power of his office by withholding $391 million in security aid for Ukraine with the aim of unlawfully pressuring Ukraine into investigating a political rival in the United States.

He has engaged in obstruction of Congress by stonewalling the impeachment inquiry of the U.S. House of Representatives by refusing to provide documents and evidence to congressional investigators and by instructing his top advisers and government officials to defy subpoenas and refuse to testify.

He has violated the “Emoluments Clause” of the Constitution by undertaking for personal profit vast, complicated and secret business arrangements to accept gifts from foreign governments without the permission of Congress.

He has created a smoke and mirrors blind trust in which he put his adult sons in charge of his company allowing him to personally profit at the expense of the public treasury by circumventing conflict of interest laws and in flagrant disregard of the honored tradition of American presidents placing their financial holdings in a blind trust to maximize transparency and accountability.

He has enforced unconstitutional loyalty tests by requiring federal employees to pledge loyalty to him personally and his administration or face dismissal in an attempt to avoid accountability and transparency in the office of the President of the United States.

He has obstructed justice by employing unlawful means to impede criminal investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

He has been impeached by the House of Representatives under Article I, Section 4 of the Constitution.

He has appointed his lawyer to oversee the distribution of the $500 billion slush fund for corporations while dismissing from office the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community who delivered a whistle blower complaint to Congress.

He has solicited the president of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to interfere in the American political process to help him win the 2020 presidential election by proposing on quid pro quo basis linking tariff with purchases of American agricultural products to help him win farm states in the 2020 presidential election.

He has weakened the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enacted to prohibit the payment of bribes to foreign officials to assist in obtaining or retaining business undermining American moral leadership in the world.

He has consorted with assorted white collar criminals many of whom have been indicted and convicted. pardoned swarms of criminals by misusing his presidential pardon power to political advantage. One of the convicted criminals pardoned by Trump has publicly urged Trump to declare martial law if Trump loses the 2020 election.

He has been accused and sued by dozens of women for rape, sexual assault and harassment bringing disrepute and dishonor to the Office of President of the United States.

He has been a superspreader of lies in his public statements. His deliberate and intentional lies, misstatements, understatements and cover up about the perils, gravity and intensity of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the needless deaths of nearly 200 thousand Americans.

He has concealed and deliberately and intentionally lied and misled the American people about the grave dangers of a deadly pandemic knowing “This is deadly stuff ” and declaring, “I wanted to always play it down,” at a critical time when reasonable and appropriate preventive measures could have been taken to effectively reduce infection and mortality rates.

He has directly and indirectly encouraged and enticed enemies of the United States to engage in criminal acts by, among other things, breaking into a Democratic Party computer network, plunder files and deliver them to a criminal group.

He has engaged in a pattern and practice of inciting racial and sectarian violence in violation of criminal laws of the United States and the laws of the States.

He has diverted laundered money through so-called “pass-through” vendors linked to his campaign leadership instead of disclosing the true recipients of the funds.

He has demonstrated gross incompetence, dishonesty and unfitness for the Office of President of the United States.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated insult and injury. A pretender to office whose character is thus marked by every act which may define an ignorant Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

  4. Well, Professor Al has the right to his opinion and including to change his opinion as he feels it fit the changing environment. Whether we agree or not is different story. We also have the same right to our opinion to agree with him or not. I personally feel that the dear countryman thinks the President is bound to lose the next election. I say not too fast on that conclusion. A lot is gonna change in the momentum of the campaign going forward. The dear professor must take into an account that a huge section of the population has been led to feel threatened and wants a president that will safeguard its very existence. It seems the President is striking the right cord with this section of the populace. He could wipe the votes of the moderates clean on November 3, 2020. American voter is a much matured ballot caster. It will look at the two candidates and picks the one who will be better in safeguarding its interests. I am not saying this or that candidate will win the election. So dear Al. It is too early to be so sure.

    Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes.

    On the other hand, voter education or registration activities with evidence of bias that (a) would favor one candidate over another; (b) oppose a candidate in some manner; or (c) have the effect of favoring a candidate or group of candidates, will constitute prohibited participation or intervention.

    Respect the law or it will come after you.

  7. There is nothing to be opposed in what Prof. Al wrote in his piece because everything he laid down is supported by evidence, be them in prints or news clips. It seems there is a campaign to destroy him by politically motivated appendages of certain ethnocentric groups in Ethiopia. If not for that, what is the purpose of mixing up Prof. Al’s sayings of 2017 with 2020 and back with 2018? If the intention is to disclose inconsistencies, lay it down in sequence and let people decide for themselves instead of trying to muddy up facts. Unless these people didn’t like his contributions in the past, he has a lot to praised for than to be villified by do-nothing inferior souls. AS Ittu Aba Farda poined out, it is natural that people change their minds based on prevailing facts and/ or one’s own perception. Hence, well meaning human beings have to look at it from that perspective rather than being stuck on “you had said that and hence you can’t say that now” logic.

They show a well prepared organization in them whose motives are not clear to me. I save my comments but I save articles by others only if they contain historical accounts of the old country and I have obtained treasure trove of educational material in them. Trump’s time is best for the homeless new arrival vulnerable Ethiopian refugee migrants in USA,in Trump’s time the infrastructures are being used to help the vulnerable segments within USA which is relieving the burden of helping the new arrivals from us the ones who stayed in USA longer which is just another simple proof that Trump is siding with the ordinary Ethiopian people not with the hypocrite elites in Ethiopia . Trump is willing to let the money reach directly to those who need it without the brokers in the middle . Trump’s plan to withdraw the giving of the lump sum funds to the dellas in EPRDF PP is appropriate since instead he is willing to give it directly to the needies without the ethnic dellala middlemen EPRDF squandering the money.

    For the first time in a very long time the new arrival migrants basic needs such as housing , clothing , nutritious food , medical attention.. are being covered by the USA government . Trump’s actions so far indicate when not if Trump gets reelected he is determined to make America Great Again , making America a land of opportunity for all. The federal law enforcement agencies had already identified cities within USA and already completed the identifying process of the violent criminals in the cities, especially cities who need to be helped by sending in the federal law enforcement agencies to do the work, these identified parts of the country finally got the chance to be free from the infeestation of crimes in their cities which is costing lives by the Americans loosing generations to crime. The president got the responsibility to identify the failed local law enforcement agencies and try enforce the law by sending in federal law enforcement agencies to do the job. Something similar to what Abiy Ahmed did when he sent his federal law enforcement agencies to arrest the terrorist Eskinder Nega and similar to when the federal law enforcement agencies arrested Lidetu Ayalew in the Oromia State.Trump is a visionary leader who is willing to make America a land of opportunity again.

As already well articulated by other comments he knows which way the wind’s blowing, and he knows the wind in America is blowing against Trump. Otherwise, he would still be singing Trump hyms.     You raise a valid point. While it is correct that 501(c)(3) organizations are prohibited from participating in political activity. This prohibition, however, does not apply to the activities of officers, directors, or employees of 501(c)(3)s who are acting in their individual capacity. 501(c)(3) staff may work on political campaigns outside of work hours, or while using their available leave time; however, 501(c)(3) leaders, staff and volunteers may not use the facilities, equipment, personnel, or other 501(c)(3) resources to provide support to or oppose a candidate or campaign.

    Election Activities of Individuals Associated with 501(c)(3) Organizations

    Employees and volunteers of public charities are often personally engaged in the political and
    democratic process in ways that are related to an organization’s mission. Although the charity itself is
    prohibited by its tax-exempt status from engaging in partisan activity, individuals do not give up their
    basic First Amendment rights of speech and association because they become affiliated with a
    charity, whether as staff, board member, or volunteer. The question is, when is an individual
    representing a 501(c)(3), and when is she acting in her individual capacity? The following examples
    and guidelines will help you determine whether an individual’s actions should be treated as personal
    statements, or will likely be attributed to the organization with which the individual is associated.

     A charity should not allow its assets or facilities to be used for individuals’ personal campaign
    work (including obvious resources like letterhead, photocopiers and telephones, as well as
    perhaps less obvious ones like distribution lists, mailing permits, and email accounts). Staff
    time – time for which a charity compensates the individual – is also the charity’s resource, and
    should not be used for supporting or opposing candidates. Even unpaid time off could be
    problematic if permitted to staff outside of standard personnel policy limits and preferentially
    allow them to volunteer on some campaigns and not others.

     501(c)(3) -sponsored events use the organization’s reputation and goodwill, so 501(c)(3)
    representatives cannot support or oppose candidates at events. (For example, an employee
    should not, while attending a charity-sponsored event, wear a political button). Charities
    should also avoid reporting their supporters’ personal campaign intervention activities in the
    charity’s newsletter.

     501(c)(3) organizations should make staff are aware, in writing, of policies against using
    organizational resources for supporting or opposing candidates, ideally in the organization’s
    personnel manual.

     When dealing with the public on issues in an election, charity spokespersons should liberally
    include disclaimers, explaining that the charity cannot and does not endorse candidates (for
    example, posting a disclaimer on the charity’s website). While such disclaimers will not
    excuse partisan activity, they can help explain a charity’s public communications not intended
    to support or oppose candidates to those who might otherwise read campaign intervention on

     Individuals should make it clear that they are speaking for themselves and not for the
    organization when participating in partisan activities off the charity’s clock.

    In this case, there are more questions than answers. For example, how do we know truthfully know that the “assets and facilities” that are used for EDTF such as computers, laptops, etc are not used to produce this specific political flyer. What does the EDTF volunteer manual say regarding its policies against using its resources for this kind of political activity in an election year? And finally where are the disclaimers?

Obama was right when he said the 2010 election held in the old country(not me very dear adopted country of USA) was fair and therefore the government then was a democratically elected one. And he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize he was awarded for doing nothing just for being the first black president and smart talker. I want this to be stored in the archives of the intelligence unit of the former EPRDF located here among us. You know, that $30 billion which was siphoned off from the coffers of the old country(again not USA) during the years 2002-2012 has not been depleted yet. That can keep you talking for years to come. Ok, truce and all but forgotten about me now? If you say no, I’m gonna report you to Mickey Mouse, Ms. Peggy, Kermit the Frog, Charlie Brown, Basil Brush, Big Bird, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Field Marshal Getachew Assefa(your former boss turned rabbit ), Chairman Xi Jinping etcetera, etcetera…Phew!!!   15. Obama was a great President but he was not perfect. The best thing about him is that he is the first to admit when he makes a mistake. In comparison to the racist and incompetent Trump, who punched Ethiopia on the gut for building GRED, Obama was an awesome and amazing President and a friend of Ethiopia. It is true that while US president, who was the first American Head of State to show Ethiopians global respect and visit Ethiopia and address the African union from its headquarters in Addis Ababa, the diplomatic capital of Africa. Although he praised Hailemariam Desalegn he also called for end of crackdown on political and press freedom, his comments on Hailemariam administration were widely and rightfully criticized at the time. But AL’s often repeated propaganda (which is really un-american) taken out of context. Even though Obama said he had raised issues of good governance – “I don’t bite my tongue too much when it comes to these issues” – he also insisted: “We are opposed to any group that is promoting the violent overthrow of a government, including the government of Ethiopia, but he should not have said that Hailemariam was democratically elected. He might as well have been speaking about Abiy Ahmed because Abiy took over over from Hailemariam after he resigned in 2018 and still supposedly and technically is finishing Hailemariam’s term. In retrospect is Abiy democratically elected? That question itself should put to rest any criticism against Obama is no longer valid. It’s mute.   16. I believe Ethiopian Diaspora Trust Fund (EDTF) was created for a noble cause and we should never cease to pitch in with whatever we can muster financially. I wish its leaders choose between charity and politics. These two don’t usually mix well. Politics in its nature is divisive. But charity brings together people from various backgrounds and convictions. Charity, to be successful and effective, should never be mixed up with politics. It should be a magnet for helping hands across dividing lines. But by all means we should never stop donating to this noble just because we hate someone among its leadership. If we still don’t like it let’s donate to other similar charities that are involved in providing assistance to those in need here or in the old country. In regards to Obbo Al, he is entitled to his opinion.

  17. I just checked the website and found out that Obbo Al serves the charity fund as an adviser. He is not the leader. The chairman is someone else with extensive expertise in financial leadership. It is amazing to notice how some people are hell bent to misinform readers with misrepresentations. Again, we should never hold back our generous hands from those glorious people who produced us all.

  18. No, politics is not divisive by nature. That’s shallow and mistaken view. Some people like Al Mariam (ውሸታም and deceitful ፖለቲከኛ) are divisive by nature. Just look at what he does when he is not using his own name under his various symbols such as Teshome Debalke, Bizaro, Tehshome Albergo, etc. Therefore, the reason most Ethiopians are holding their wallet tight when it come to supporting EDTF. Al Mariam is the most divisive individual in the Ethiopian Diaspora. Why should we give our hard earned money to any organization that he is associated with? Why? Why should we support an individual that works day and night to undermine our interest and unity?
