TIGRAY REGION AT RISK OF BECOMING A TERRORIST BASE

July 4, 2021

The attacks which target supporters of the Ethiopian federal government has put to question the decision and emphasis by the international community to withdraw Eritrean and Ethiopian forces from Mekele.

Sources say dozens of administrators considered to be collaborators of the Ethiopian government have been massacred in cold blood by members of the TPLF.

Killings have been reported on nearly daily bases.

The alarming rate of killings by the TPLF has resulted in families of Ethiopian students from Universities based in Tigray, calling on the Government of Abiy to come to their rescue.

The pressure from the international community to withdraw Eritrean troops and later Ethiopian troops from Tigray, has permitted the surviving TPLF forces to emerge from their hideouts and resume their destabilization of Ethiopia which was initiated since their outset from the federal government and the accession of Abiy Ahmed.

The United States and the European Union might have to meet again to address the position they earlier took to support a terrorist movement that used a humanitarian disguise campaign and disinformation supported by Western media which projected executioners as victims.

The demonstrations transmitted in the last days from Mekele and the declarations of war against other ethnic groups and in particular the ethnic group of Amhara, contrast with the statements of hundreds of thousands of people starving in Tigray, which eventually mobilized the EU and the United States.

The TPLF has declared in its networks that it does not want peace and that Tigray will be independent and will serve as a rear base for all Ethiopian subversive movements.

Has history not taught us anything yet? After Iraq, Libya and Syria the western countries are surely creating for us “Ethiopian cancer” that will have perilous repercussions throughout East Africa and beyond.
