On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Orthodox Christians were massacred in two places on two different continents and locations more than 4,200 km (2,600 miles) apart: Syria and Addis Ababa. The timing of the massacres raises the question of whether there is a cult behind the murders. Such suspicions arose because this date, June 22 (Sene15-16), is also the same date that Abiy Ahmed has repeatedly chosen to carry out assassinations (real and staged), massacres, kidnappings and disappearances. Every June 22 during Abiy Ahmed’s seven years in office has been marked by a bloodbath of one kind or another.
OPDO, Nazi Party and June 22nd.
June 22 had been chosen as the date for Nazi Germany’s largest operation. Abiy Ahmed’s OPDO is a Nazi party in its philosophy and its flag bears the colors of the swastika or the colors of Imperial Germany. Abiy’s OPDO is all about Lebensraum and has deployed both the government’s regular army and an irregular Shene paramilitary unit he equipped to displace Amhara and other ethnic groups with the intent of expropriating their lands. Over the past seven years, the OPDO has displaced millions of people from vast areas of the Oromia Region, the Southern Region, the Amhara Region and the Benishangul-Gumuz Region through massacres and terrorist campaigns. It is therefore no wonder that such a date has been chosen by Abiy Ahmed’s OPDO to carry out its bloody rite.

That said, some of the most atrocious massacres of Abiy Ahmed have been committed a few days before or after this ominous date. For example, the Tole Massare of thousands of Amhara farmers in Wellega, Oromo Region took place on June 18, 2022
Strengthening the claim regarding this summer solstice date, another of Abiy Ahmed’s massacre dates is Dec. 21, the date of the winter solstice. Among other things, Dec. 21 marks the date Abiy Ahmed visited Metekel (Benshangul-Gumuz) with hundreds of Amhara slaughtered and bulldozed into mass graves that very night.
What happened at the Ziquala Monastery?
Several monks of the Ethiopian Church were killed near Addis Ababa by Abiy Ahmed’s irregular Shene forces. This is the third attack on the Ziquala monastery just 45 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Last year, four monks were brutally massacred and several abducted with nobody arrested for the crime.
The entire city of Debre Zeit (Bishoftu) is rumored to have been sold to Abiy Ahmed’s Arab handlers. Arab interest in the area are not new. Gragn Mohammed (Mohammed Gurey) sacked the ancient Abyssinian cities and displaced Christians living in the area with assistance and instigtations from Arab’s across the sea. In recent times, Sheik Mohamed Al Amoudi fenced of the entire Hora lake area and the Hora resort immediately after the fall of the military regime.
Abiy Ahmed has also been conducting a vigorous campaign to convert numerous holy sites and monasteries of the Ethiopian church into resorts for his Arab patrons. Such sacrilegious projects have been already completed at several sites. It is therefore no wonder that he keeps targeting Ziquala monastery that sits atop a mountain with a beautiful volcanic lake. As the monastery is just minutes from Addis Ababa and only a stone-throw away from the Ethiopian Airforce headquarters and several military bases, people believe that only Abiy Ahmed’s irregular death squads can carry out repeated military and terrorist operations against the monastery with impunity.
What happened in Syria?
According to Reuters, “At least 20 people were killed and dozens injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Mar Elias Church in the Dweila neighborhood of Syria’s capital Damascus on Sunday, health authorities and security sources said.”
