Ethiopian prime minister condemns massacre of civilians in Oromia

Addis Ababa, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Thursday condemned the massacre of civilians at a district in Wellega, a region in the western part of Oromia.
Ahmed also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and the Ethiopian people, through a communique released on national media.

Our enemies are trying to hinder the ongoing processes of change by killing our citizens; however, united, we will continue to build a superior nation, the prime minister said.He also informed that the federal authorities, in collaboration with the institutions of the regional states, are adopting measures to confront the perpetrators of the murders.

On the other hand, the prime minister exhorted the population ‘not to fall into the trap of the destructive forces’ and join the government in the fight to end violence and bring the perpetrators of these acts to justice.
