Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed about the resumption of food assistance across Ethiopia beginning next month. The Secretary commended reforms by the Government of Ethiopia and humanitarian partners to help ensure aid reaches those experiencing acute food insecurity. The Secretary and Prime Minister Abiy also discussed efforts to consolidate peace in northern Ethiopia and the importance of regional cooperation. The Secretary expressed concern about ongoing violence in Amhara, Oromia and elsewhere in Ethiopia and stressed the importance of dialogue and negotiation to resolve conflict.

This is as always Good Ole USA at its best stretching out its generous hands to the hungry people of the old country. Ask those ruffians in Moscow and Beijing to top or even to match that! No, they will never do such noble thing. The one in Moscow is busy doing brisk business selling billions of dollars worth of tools of death and destruction to the starving people on one hand and killing toddlers, pregnant women and the elderly in Ukraine. The other hooligan in Beijing is so worked up bullying fledgling democracies nearby.
