Stop BEDiSA Group’s Land Grab of Tana Beles-Amhara Region, Ethiopia

1 min read

Amhara Professional Union (APU) an organization dedicated to the defense and protection of the ideals and interests of the Amhara of Ethiopia in all sectors has initiated a petition to stop the purchase of the Tana Beles project by a Turkish corporation called BEDiSA Group.

The TPLF regime has been selling fertile Amhara land in the name of development while at the same time committing genocide of the Amhara people, forced eviction of farmers without adequate compensation, and imprisonment. The Amhara people will not benefit from the sale of Tana Beles, but instead the profits from these ventures go to the pocketbooks of TPLF leadership. Therefore, the Amhara Professional Union (APU) is suggesting to the BEDiSA Group to hold off all of its investment in Tana Beles until a government that represents the concerns and aspirations of the Amhara people is installed. The BEDiSA Group can invest in the Amhara region once a government that represents the wishes and aspirations of the Amhara people is in place and by then the hospitable Amhara people will welcome the group to invest in the region that will surely boost the investment’s value, safety, and profitability.

This kind of incident is a minor setback. Amharas need to arrive into the 21st century living their old customs behind. That’s why EPRDF was working hard to developing Amharas educational and health care infrastructures so the Amhara can live like a modern people do, in this rapidly developing country there is no room for old customs and old lifestyles. Amharas need to learn more how to live as part of the process of transformation process. These kind of accidents can be corrected easily as the Amhara society develops into a health conscious society. If we see the big picture we cannot worry about minor unfortunate events like this one. That is why we tell Amharas that they need to learn to developm themselves . The Ethiopia-Djibouti railway mega project was inaugurated colorfully on Wednesday October, 5, 2016 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia meaning there is nomore room for old habits since the country will be full of factories and industries. .
The Ethiopia-Djibouti railway inauguration was attended by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia, President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh, Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia La Yifan and other dignitaries.
We are witnessing huge development in our lifetime thanks to the transformation vision of our leaders. It is guaranteed indutrial revolution is around the corner. It is all becoming real as promised it will . The way the country is going Ethiopia will be number one developed country in Africa shortly. Nothing can stop us now since we got this train linking us to Djibouti .Now we will be hauling everything under the sun to our beloved country be it technology or human labor force from other parts of the world.
