OIC condemns Ethiopians' execution in Libya

munathmat muatamar islamic_0Jeddah, Apr.23 (BNA) he Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the atrocious mass murder of thirty Ethiopian Christians by the affiliate of the DAESH terrorist group in Libya. The Secretary General of the OIC, Iyad Ameen Madani, expressed horror at this latest execution of innocent persons which adds to the long list of the brutalities committed by this group of criminals and outlaws. He noted that this incident has again highlighted the need to further step up international collaboration to combat and eradicate the menace and terror of DAESH.
Madani also added that the OIC is in the process of forming a group of wise person to visit Libya to push forward for a social and political equilibrium to move Libya from the institutional vacuum of the Gaddafi era, and the violent aftermath that follows his fall to a state of national identity, shared values and transitional institutions.
The Secretary General renewed his call for addressing the root causes and environment that breeds extremism and give space for divisive foreign influence. The Secretary General also conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the government and people of Ethiopia over the tragedy, assuring them that the OIC shares in their grief.
