Ethiopia's inflation rate rises to 9.4 pct in May yr/yr

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – Ethiopia’s inflation rate rose to 9.4 percent year-on-year in May from 9.3 percent the previous month, thanks to price rises in non-food items, the statistics office said on Thursday.
Non-food inflation rose to 8.7 percent in May from 7.7 percent a month earlier. Khat, a stimulant, clothing and construction materials were the main items that rose, the Central Statistics Agency said in a statement.
Food inflation decreased to 10.1 percent from 10.8 percent
