Ethiopia: Minnesota State Capitol Protest against Ethiopian Government

 minnesota

DATE: AUGUST 10, 2016. TIME: 2:30 PM.

PLACE:  Minnesota State Capitol

Address: 75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, St Paul, MN 55155

Ethiopians in Minnesota will be staging a protest in front of the state capitol on 10 August 2016, to rally against the unrelenting human rights violations perpetrated by the TPLF Government in Ethiopia against the Oromo and Amhara people. Such violations include extrajudicial killings of peaceful protesters, students in universities, detentions without due process, and torture, to name but a few.

The purpose of this protest rally is to strongly protest against the ongoing widespread human rights violations and extrajudicial killings of Oromos and Amharas in general, and peaceful protesters in particular, by the TPLF minority regime in Ethiopia.

In this month only the government security forces killed more than 100 people demonstrating against the TPLF-led minority regime’s land grab policy, thousands wounded and arrested. Amhara and Oromo youth are targeted in general. There are about 50,000 political prisoners as reported by different ex-political prisoners.

All Ethiopians, democratic nations and friends of Ethiopians should stand against the heinous acts being perpetrated towards Ethiopians by the minority-led Ethiopian government. We also demand that the authorities order and executing this massacre against Amharas, Oromos and other peoples be held accountable for their crimes at an international court.
