  7. Hi Blaine!!

You made my day, hon. Do not slow down and keep marching on. You don’t seem confrontational in your presentation and keep it that way. You have rattled the cages of the male chauvinists because they are not used to seeing such strong and assertive women like you. They have been raping and mutilating our women since the dawn of history. And some leaders of both religions have been part of the blame for perpetuating such horrific bondage. Now I said ‘some leaders’ and not ‘all leaders’. As I said a million times before that men have been doing nothing but creating wars and planning destruction. They have committed genocides on innocent people for centuries. They have proved themselves to be the creators of discrimination of women. You see. I was expecting good and encouraging news today from New York. I thought there is going to be a woman general secretary at the UN for the first time. There were 7 qualified women candidates running for the position among the total 13. But the job went to one of the six men candidates. I have been in a foul mood since the news broke out. Millions of our women should join you in your long journey to the Promised Land of complete liberation of our women. Enough is enough. I want to see our women just like the women in Taiwan, USA, Western Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and many modern countries. When I saw a woman from Hong Kong as a member of trade delegation in the early 1980’s, I yearned the same for our own women. I can tell you that she was the most capable of the delegation. And I have seen others like her from Taiwan, Japan and even from Chile since then. They were just as capable. Now I want to bring to your attention what I heard about what is going in the hoods of some communities among our Diaspora. I am hearing that quite a number of our women are being taken advantage of in all manners and ways especially those who are very desperate. They are being forced into sex slaves and covering themselves up from head to toe. That is not my Oromo costume but rather a Saudi attire. It has nothing to do with religion. It is a method to degrade women and held them in bondage exposing them to diseases, infestations and others afflictions. I wish I can awaken the late Habib Bourguiba of Tunisia for that one. I repeat. That is not a religious requirement but rather a cultural subjugation by the Wahhabi Saudis. Period!!!

So keep up the good work. I wish you nothing but success in your long drawn out hard work.
