2 Die After Fight Erupts At Kakuma Refugee Camp

Two people died after a a fight erupted at Kakuma Refugee Camp in Turkana County on Thursday night.

According to the Refugee Affairs Commissioner Harun Komen, the fighting was between refugees from South-Sudan and those from Burundi.
Refugess in Kakuma 1, 2, 3, and 4 are said to be the most affected.
Residents of Kakuma now living in fear and are calling on the government to deploy more security personnel to the area.
Kakuma is the second largest camp in Kenya after Daadab and is home to 72,000 refugees.
The camp has been housing multinational refugees for decades.
Among them are 45,000 Somalis, 15,000 South Sudanese and others from Ethiopia, Rwanda and Burundi.
At least 14,000 South Sudanese are also seeking refuge at Kakuma in Turkana since clashes broke out last December.
