  1. It’s interesting to see Ethiopians & the so called Ethiopian government have given such an elaborate sending to the late Patriarch. What makes me so amazed is that a lot have been written he pious he was because he never said a word after her returned to Ethiopia. I think may be he was ashamed of his history of betrayal. During the fascist Derg time he never said a word when his holiness Abune Tephilos was arrested & later killed in a brutal manner. He never said a word when Major Melaka was massacring young Ethiopians in mass. Then the ultimate betrayal was he fled to the US when our beloved Ethiopia occupied by fascist TPLF. According to our church believes he was appointed by GOD not by anyone else so only GOD can remove him from power. To accept TPLF’s threat & leave his country, church & followers in my opinion was the greatest betrayal anyone can committed. He should have stayed & sacrifice his life for his country & church. He should have made history. The history of resistance like many many martyrs before him Paul, Peter, Petros, Mikael, Teophilos & many others. That guilt has make him MUTE. He never spoke even when Orthodox followers were massacred in Wollega or other parts of Oromia. Why? Because he has always been submitting to fascist leaders. He doesn’t deserve this fanfare. He has done nothing to Ethiopia & the church. History will remember him as a weak leader who helped Ethiopia to be destroyed
