The United Youth 4 Christ Conference started about four years ago through the collaborated effort of nine evangelical churches serving the Oromo, Eritrean and Amharic speaking communities. The heart of our vision was to use our faith to go beyond our differences in language, ethnicity, experiences etc., including man made barriers, to work together to make a difference in the lives of the next generation – the youth!
Our belief is it is through forgiveness and reconciliation and clear vision for the future that we will be able to change the hostility and division that seems to beset our communities and raise a generation of young people who are able to go beyond themselves to make a lasting impact in their communities. We have received unprecedented support from the various churches and the community. To date, we have been able to host four youth conferences and make a difference in hundreds of youths in our cities. We’ve seen lives changed, drug habits broken, and kids commit their lives to worth-while causes.
