Battle of Adwa entered the annals of Ethiopian history, marking the tremendous victory of the African people over the European army, Russia Ambassador to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin said.
In his congratulatory message to Ethiopians on the 127th Anniversary of Adwa Victory, Ambassador Evgeny Terekhin said evidently, the events of the 2nd of March, 1896, hold a special place in the history of not only the Ethiopian state but whole Africa.
According to the ambassador, the victory of the Ethiopian people at the Battle of Adwa is an event of utter importance in the memory of both Ethiopia and all of Africa.
This victory is more than a military triumph. It is a demonstration of the great strength of mind, national freedom loving character, will and what a people can achieve, standing united, he pointed out.
Evgeny further noted that the heroism and dedication of the Ethiopian people determined the outcome of the general battle.
“The Battle of Adwa is an outstanding example of the bravery, courage, strength, and unity of the Ethiopian people, which cast doubt on the invincibility of European armies and served as a source of encouragement and a lodestar for all African peoples in the struggle for their independence from the yoke of colonialism,” Ambassador Evgeny said.
He stressed that the victory was a launching pad and a springboard for the emergence of pan-Africanism, it also gave a powerful impetus to the strengthening of the Ethiopian statehood and the country’s independent domestic and foreign policy and fostered its positions on the international arena.According to the ambassador, the Battle of Adwa may justly be called one of the milestones in the history of Russian-Ethiopian relations.
He recalled that a Russian Red Cross mission also arrived in the country helping thousands of Ethiopian war heroes wounded in the battle. In 1898, two years later, diplomatic relations were established between Russia and Ethiopia.
The ambassador finally congratulates the Government and the brotherly people of Ethiopia on the 127th Anniversary of the Victory at Adwa.

Excellent and timely speech by the over qualified President Sahle-Work bint Zewidie. This beyond-repair Afro-centric nigga here never stops being very proud of what his black ancestors achieved on that fateful day at Adwa and left behind an eternal inspiration for freedom loving/people throughout Africa and beyond. That bully Baratieri and that vicious pompous Dabormida never expected to get a lesson or two in warfare from those black folks. These two and their fellow commanders expected those ‘primitive’ creatures to keep coming at them in rows having their chests wide open for easy targets. But they were taught what it was like to be treated with single and double envelopments. After that it looked to the bullies that the earth and the skies were laminated and tight shut behind them, in front of them and all around them. When I heard what that Barentu warrior Mikaeel(Mohammed Ali) and Tekle of Gojjaam did to Dabormida I was puffing up with pride I almost blew up. What they did just put the final nail of the coffin with Dabormida inside. What those geniuses came up was just out of the textbook of modern warfare. Tekle’s men were sent into the Dobormida’s position as decoys leading the enemy in a well camouflaged cavalry trap of Mikaeel. By the time Dabormida realized the game it was too late and he found himself with my Barentu’s lance well anchored in his pompous chest. Then it suddenly turned into cutting and running like a rabbit for Baratieri. He did not even bother or wasn’t man enough to stay with his generals and soldiers. He just cut and ran like a rattled up gazelle. This makes you to say ‘should I laugh at this or what?’. When I read this story about this commander-in-chief I found it to be so embarrassing. Here we have a decorated military commander of a Roman Empire being chased by black folks! Not only a commander but a four star and decorated general!!!

You just have not read my past comments on various occasions with undivided attention. I am a man of peace and harmony my entire life on this good earth. If you are doing this just bully me around and chase me away from this esteemed website you will terribly disappointed. I never condoned violence on peaceful violence but I urged the utmost protection of factories and businesses where hundred possibly thousands count on to bring the dough home. For me these places are untouchables and should be protected by all means available from rowdy elements who get high from setting such tools/signs of modernity. I have also explained why such places are untouchables for me regardless of who owns them. When manufacturing machines and human hands are in perfect marriage the fringe benefits from such marriage have far reaching positive ramifications. It goes all the way to free our women and put an abrupt stop to the runaway population explosion. I had seen it working being on site in Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea in the late 1970’s through the 1990’s. You don’t touch factories and similar places of employment then you will be in good terms with me. If you don’t shoot, kill and maim peaceful party goers then you are in good terms with me. If you don’t massacre innocent poor farmers then you are in good friendship terms with me. Get it? Finally I once again urge you and your buddies to read all my comments with undivided and sober attention.
